Multi-wave project management.
75 stores transformed in 6 weeks.
CHALLENGE
JCPenney is converting Sephora branded retail spaces within their department stores into a JCPenney branded cosmetics retail space. Sevan provided project management resources to support, plan and execute the program rollout. The program consists of 591 store locations across 29 districts in the US, divided into each wave of activity—averaging 75 stores each with no more than 6 stores impacted within a single district in any wave.
SOLUTION
To complete this program, Sevan worked closely with JCPenney in a sequence of waves. Each wave was completed using a combination of Smartsheet and JCPenney’s Lucernex with continuous communication to review the scope, schedule and work with each General Contractor, General Manager and Design Manager— allowing the rollout of work with all stores to start and complete concurrently.
RESULTS
Sevan provided program management and leadership experience with well controlled and sequenced work by third party vendors across a large geography. This effort aimed to initiate each wave. Sevan was engaged to manage a Store Refresh program for select stores with a broader scope of work.
