Increased site proposition.
Innovative problem-solving for on-time opening.
CHALLENGE
The Motor Fuel Group (MFG) greenfield site was created as part of a development in a new industrial area. The initial planning application was refused but subsequently granted on appeal. This led to knock-on effects as subsequent changes requested by the client required planning permission. The site had to be reprogrammed after miscommunication from the electric company, and the water main feed could not be installed until 4 weeks after the site was to be opened.
SOLUTION
Wyeth planned, designed and managed this new-to-industry site. Wyeth updated and refined the site plans, including a larger building, larger WC area, trash area, solar panels to the canopy roof and an increased EV charging offer. Wyeth also arranged an innovative solution, installing a 12,500-litre water bowser that fed into the building to ensure the site could open on time, even without the water installation ready.
RESULTS
The larger space also made the site a more attractive proposition for Food To Go concessions and Greggs Bakery to operate in the shop. The team achieved project completion on time and under budget for a very satisfied client.
